INOX India and three partners on Monday launched a training centre in Vadodara to develop skilled manpower for India’s growing semiconductor manufacturing industry.

The SemiOrbit Skill Excellence Centre, inaugurated at ITM SLS Baroda University’s Paldi campus, has been set up by INOX India (INOXCVA), ITM SLS Baroda University, INOX Air Products and Swagelok Bombay, stated an official release. The centre will train students, engineers and working professionals in orbital welding, process piping and ultra-high-purity (UHP) gas distribution systems, which are critical to semiconductor manufacturing.

Technical Talent

Under the collaboration, INOX India will provide cryogenic and gas infrastructure and train engineers. INOX Air Products will supply ultra-high-purity gases, while Swagelok Bombay will contribute technology and expertise in orbital welding and process piping. ITM SLS Baroda University will lead training and academic activities, it added. The centre will focus on developing skills required for the installation, fabrication and maintenance of UHP gas distribution systems, semiconductor process utility infrastructure and advanced orbital welding applications.

The initiative aims to address the shortage of specialised technical talent as India builds its semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. It will offer structured training programmes, practical workshops, certification courses and hands-on learning, in line with the broader objectives of the government’s India Semiconductor Mission.
